The device is available in two distinct colorways: Phantom Black and Lunar Mist. The design language centers around a pill-shaped dual camera module positioned horizontally on the rear panel, creating a visually striking appearance.
The front of the device sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels, delivering sharp visuals with 446 PPI density. The display features a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming, along with 10-bit color depth supporting over a billion colors. Peak brightness levels reach up to 2400 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and includes wet touch control functionality for improved responsiveness with damp or oily hands.

For durability, the smartphone comes with an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and splashes. The device features 1.7mm equilateral bezels on all sides and includes a Super Anti-Drop Diamond Frame for enhanced structural integrity.
AI Integration and Software
One of the standout features of the Agni 4 5G is the introduction of Vayu AI, described by Lava as an emotionally aware artificial intelligence assistant specifically designed for Indian users. Unlike traditional voice assistants, Vayu AI is integrated at the system level directly into the home screen, offering a more natural and context-aware interaction experience.
Vayu AI includes dedicated agents for different tasks: AI-powered education tutors for mathematics and English with step-by-step learning capabilities, creativity tools for content generation and photo editing, productivity features including call summarization and smart note-taking, and everyday assistance for routine tasks. The AI operates primarily on-device, ensuring faster response times and enhanced privacy protection.
Additionally, the smartphone supports Google’s Circle to Search functionality and includes various AI-powered camera features such as scene detection optimized for Indian skin tones, lighting conditions, and festivals.
Performance and Hardware
Under the hood, the Agni 4 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, built on a 4nm fabrication process with clock speeds reaching up to 3.35GHz. The device reportedly achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 1.4 million, positioning it among the highest-performing smartphones in its segment.
The processor is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which can be virtually expanded up to 16GB for enhanced multitasking capabilities. Storage is handled by 256GB of UFS 4.0 internal memory, offering significantly faster read and write speeds compared to previous generation storage standards.
For thermal management, Lava has equipped the device with a 4300mm² VC (Vapor Chamber) liquid cooling system, combined with a dedicated Game Booster mode to maintain optimal performance during extended gaming sessions.
Camera System
For photography, the Agni 4 5G features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The camera system includes advanced features such as High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging, AI scene detection, Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) technology to enhance dynamic range and reduce noise, and Document Correction capabilities.
Both the rear and front cameras support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, catering to content creators and vloggers. The front-facing camera utilizes a 50MP sensor with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), housed in a centered punch-hole cutout.
Additionally, the device includes Dual-View Video Mode, allowing simultaneous recording from both front and rear cameras.
Battery and Charging
Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery designed to provide all-day usage. According to Lava, the battery delivers up to 14 hours of video playback on platforms like YouTube and other OTT services. The smartphone supports 66W HyperCharge fast charging via a USB Type-C 3.2 port, capable of reaching 50 percent charge in under 19 minutes.
Software and Updates
The Agni 4 5G runs Android 15 out of the box with a clean, bloatware-free interface, distinguishing it from many competitors that ship with pre-loaded third-party applications. Lava has committed to providing three years of major Android OS upgrades (covering Android 16, 17, and 18) along with four years of security patches extending until 2030.
Additional Features
The device includes several premium features typically found in higher-priced segments: a customizable Action Key on the side frame for quick access to frequently used functions like camera, torch, or specific applications; dual stereo speakers for enhanced audio output; an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for secure authentication; an infrared (IR) blaster for controlling home appliances; and support for face unlock functionality.
Connectivity
For wireless connectivity, the Agni 4 5G supports dual 5G SIM functionality with SA/NSA compatibility across multiple bands (n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78). Additional connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC for contactless payments, and comprehensive satellite navigation support including GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.
